Overhead Door introduces Garage Door Emergency Battery Back-up.
New Accessory Provides Assurance and Reliability in Blackouts and Severe Weather.
Overhead Door Corporation, one of the most-recognized brands in the garage door industry, is adding assurance and reliability to its garage door opener accessory portfolio with the Battery Back-up, a product that provides homeowners with reliable garage door operation during severe weather, thunderstorms and blackouts.
The Battery Back-up accessory offers homeowners the security of always being prepared when severe weather hits, even in case of a power outage. It’s an accessory that can be easily installed and provides true peace of mind. When the power is out, the Battery Back-up will do the heavy lifting.
Overhead Door’s Battery Back-up, powered by Interstate Batteries®, provides reliable garage door operation in the event of electricity outages. It is compatible with Overhead Door’s next generation of garage door openers, the Destiny® and Odyssey®, which combine reliability, speed and power, all with quiet operation. The Battery Back-up accessory enables an opener to operate the garage door at 3.5 inches per second, and, in the event of an extendedloss of electricity, the unit will run up to 50 cycles in a 24-hour period after initial power outage.
With several mounting options available, this accessory is designed to be unobtrusive. It’s charged and powered via a connector cable running between the opener and the unit, which means there is no need for it to be plugged into an outlet. The Battery Back-up can be easily installed by either an Overhead Door distributor or the homeowner. The unit is equipped with an 8-AMP, sealed lead-acid battery (SLA) from Interstate, one of the nation’s largest battery replacement companies, reaches full charge within 48 hours and has front facing LEDs that indicate charge status.
Severe weather events are not an uncommon occurrence. With the Overhead Door Battery Backup, customers can rest easy knowing that, with electricity or not, they will always be able to access their garage.
